The new Sirimiri Collection by Ofita

Ofita has recently presented its Sirimiri collection of aluminium public benches for bus and train stations, hospitals, shopping centres, airports, metro stations, residential homes, educational centres and museums, etc. This Collection, designed by King & Miranda Design, stands out because of an innovative way that gives it great physical and aesthetic lightness at the same time as being very robust. According to its creators, Sirimiri stems from the idea of curving a surface and making it take on a fluid, comfortable and sensual profile. Sirimiri (Drizzle in basque) must be like fine rain, from which it takes its name, a rain that wets but cannot be seen.

The challenge of Sirimiri was to make extremely light elements -extra fine aluminium plates and air, thanks to its interior shaping and the curvature of its surfaces- behave like extremely robust freestanding structures, capable of bearing significant stresses.

The Sirimiri system includes three models, two of which have medium and high backrests, and a third without. The lengths run from a minimum of two to a maximum of six. Two superficial finishes: texture aluminium and wood. One fully upholstered version and another with integral polyurethane seats. Steel supports. Armrests, side tables and wall anchor structures complete the range.

Ofita is a leading Spanish company in the office furniture and public seating sector, as well as in the design of environments. Starting out as a furniture manufacturer in 1969, the experience gained by Ofita over time led it to specialise in the design, management and comprehensive fitting out of office spaces in addition to furniture manufacturing.

As a result of constant expansion, the Ofita brand is no longer restricted to the office sector but now encompasses six lines of business: offices, libraries, public seating areas, residential homes, hospitals and consultancy.
