Fambuena warms up Aspen

Situated at the base of Aspen Mountain, the Ajax Tavern at the Little Nell Hotel just underwent an extensive renovation that brings the space into present day, while retaining the traditional tavern feel. The project fell onto the shoulders of Aspen’s Rowland + Broughton Architecture and Urban Design, led by principles Sarah Broughton and John Rowland, along with designer and project manager Jason Goldberg.

Lighting company Fambuena’s Dress pendants, are the signature pieces in a design in which red is the predominate color-way, accented by deep brown wood finishes.

The space is enriched with leather upholstery, refurbished millwork and reclaimed oak floors, and is punctuated by a series of pendants sporting drum shades hand-wrapped in red ribbon. The interior design reflects a classic tavern aesthetic with a modern sensible feel, transcending time and design trends.
