PaiPay by Amat

Spanish company Amat-3 presents PaiPay, designed by Jorge Pensi. A veritable breath of fresh air, it’s a conceived as a representation of the zingy colour and freshness of the tropics. The new chair is an invitation to the user to create new ways of living and is equally suitable for indoors and out.

PaiPay is a very special piece with a metal frame and a backrest made of injected polypropylene. It’s available in red, black, white and graphite grey and has just been unveiled at the most prestigious fairs in the US (ICFF in New York, Hospitality Design in Las Vegas and Neocon in Chicago). The design was very well received by visitors, but that’s hardly surprising, given that it’s very functional and versatile.

Amat-3, which has its HQ in Barcelona, designs, manufactures and markets furniture for public spaces and communal areas. Since it was founded in 1944, its products, such as the Toledo chair, the Jamaica stool and range of children’s furniture designed by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada or, more recently, the Corset chair created by the architect Oscar Tusquets, have all become iconic examples of Spanish design.
