Lounger – Jaime Hayón’s latest idea
After its fruitful association with Jaime Hayón's 2006 Showtime collection, BD has once again collaborated with the Spanish designer to produce its latest creation: the Lounger armchair, which was recently launched at the Paris design fair Maison & Objet.
The piece is elegant yet as comfortable as you’d hope a chair like this to be. Its design also bears the unmistakeable stamp of Hayón’s style: playful contrasts between classicism and modernity, monochrome finishes and a mix of textures. It’s bound to be a hit.
Bd Barcelona Design – which was founded in 1972 and was known then as Bd Ediciones de Diseño – is one of Spain’s most internationally feted design companies. Its catalogue encompasses designs by today’s most high-profile designers and archive pieces – for example, Arts & Crafts furniture by Antoni Gaudí and designs by Salvador Dalí – for which it has exclusive world distribution rights.
During its illustrious history, Bd Barcelona Design has garnered Spain’s National Design Prize in 1989 and the European Community Design Prize in 1990.
