Mario Ruiz’s Flat

Gandia Blasco’s latest offering this year – which was unveiled at the recent Paris design fair Maison & Objet – is called Flat. It’s a collection combining a soldered, thermolacquered aluminium frame with polyethylene – materials which give it a very metropolitan look.

Flat comprises a huge spectrum of pieces: a sun lounger, sun lounger-cum-table, chair, low-level armchair, four types of modular sofa, low-level pouffe (to go with an easy chair), modular pouffe, benches at various heights as well as a tall stool and short stool.

The Flat sun lounger’s design and impressive technical characteristics have garnered it prestigious magazine Wallpaper*’s 2008 Design Award in the ‘best outdoor furniture’ category. Now, in a sign that the company is investing in it, the collection has been expanded and comes in white and bronze.
