Grassoler unveils its Opalina armchair
Barcelona-based firm Grassoler has just launched its 2012 catalogue. And one of the star pieces in its latest collections is its Opalina armchair, designed by Gabriel Teixidó.
Teixidó’s characteristically austere, sober style is recognisable in Opalina, an armchair with an eye-catching silhouette. With its tapering base and capacious backrest, it’s shaped like an inverted cone hollowed out to leave a spacious, inviting, comfortable seat. Its solid, elegantly simple look means it can take centre-stage in whichever space it graces.
Opalina has a solid wood frame upholstered in polyester. It’s available in myriad colours and finishes, including leather, a material that stands out because it comes with long stitches in thick thread. The chair can be paired with a footrest upholstered in the same fabric in the same colour; the latter can be used as a seat on its own.
Grassoler is one of Spain’s most established upholstered furniture manufacturers. From the time this family business was set up in 1960 until today, its values have been inextricably linked to good design, excellent quality, comfort and great service.
