Ados: Miguel Angel Ciganda’s design for Akaba
It’s stackable, comes with or without arms, with or without writing table arms, upholstered or not, in various colours which can be easily mixed and matched on its backrest and seat… Just launched by Akaba, Ados, designed by Miguel Angel Ciganda, is a chair which clearly aims to be polyvalent, with each of its permutations meeting a specific need.
Ados’s slender steel-rod frame and dusty colours give it an ethereal air, and make it look discreet and elegant – perfect for such diverse environments as waiting rooms, cafés, offices and schools.
Ciganda has been working for over 40 years in the world of design. He’s undertaken over 500 projects of all kinds, from interiors of small local businesses and large public areas in hotels to upholstered furniture. He has also experimented in the most sophisticated industrial processes.
Founded in 1986 in Guipúzcoa, northern Spain, Akaba is one of Spain’s leading manufacturers of furniture for offices and public spaces. It exports approximately 50 per cent of its goods to such markets as the US, China, the UK and other European countries.
