Noon: Héctor Diego’s design for Koo International
Designed by Héctor Diego for Valencia-based company Koo International, Noon is a collection of modular sofas which look both solid and softly contoured. Its main characteristics are comfort and convenience. Being modular, its various pieces can be reconfigured to adapt to all interiors. Its strikingly high backrest means the sofa will take centre-stage in any living room. It’s the perfect piece to relax on and feel pleasantly cocooned in.
Seen from the front, the angle of the sofa’s arms and its cushions, which can be arranged so they’re horizontal or vertical, create a strong visual impact. Equally suitable for the home or for public spaces, the sofa is part of a family that also includes an armchair, chaise longue and pouffe. Noon can be upholstered in any type of material; what’s more, its covers are removable.
Héctor Diego is a young industrial designer from Valencia, who set up his own studio in 2001. He has undertaken commissions for companies such as Koo International, De la Oliva (for example, its Plane bench), Toyota, Perobell, Viccarbe, Novum and LZF Lamps. He’s carried out projects in furniture, lighting, bathroom, office and exhibition design as well as street furniture.
Since 1998, Koo International perfectly combines its experience in this industry with the latest technology used to manufacture upholstered furniture. It specialises in on-trend, competitively priced design for the domestic and contract markets. Its Alma chair designed by Lavernia & Cienfuegos and Audrey collection of sofas and armchairs are other designs Koo International has launched recently.
