Papeles Pintados Aribau marks its 50th birthday
Wallpaper company Papeles Pintados Aribau is 50 years old this year, and, to celebrate, its division Tres Tintas Barcelona has launched a new collection in collaboration with design studio Odosdesign. This comprises four lines called Pueblo (meaning town or village), Crochet, Zoo and Selva (jungle). The designs are very delicate and come in fashionable pastel tones designed to embellish walls while avoiding strident, over-the-top effects.
What’s more, this dynamic company has just unveiled four new, inspirational collections at the Heimtextil and Maison & Objet design trade fairs this January.
Called Missiva, Nostalgia and Trick, these form a trilogy of designs created by Emiliana Design Studio, which reflect a passion for the linear, drawing and texture. Missiva invites us to appreciate the patterns inside commercial envelopes, Nostalgia is inspired by classical damasks and, thanks to some cutting-edge restyling, is transformed into an elegant, hand-drawn design, while Trick explores and pays homage to traditional hand-crafting techniques such as origami and paper cut-outs.
Finally, Tres Tintas Barcelona’s latest collection for 2012, called Patchwall Creative Kids Patchwork Wallpapers, and created in collaboration with the designer Juancrís Vera, is intended for decorating children’s rooms.
Further to their presentation at Maison & Objet and Heimtextil, an official launch of these new Tres Tintas collections is planned for spring.
