The studio Carme Pinós creats Objects…
…Its first furniture collection.
The studio of architect Carme Pinós has just launched its first furniture collection called Objects, which comprises shelves, bookcases, cupboards and tables, all of which are easy to assemble. Extremely lightweight and practical, the collection is manufactured entirely in Spain.
For sale exclusively on the e-commerce site, www.objects.es, this comprises 11 pieces, made of steel sheets combined with different types of wood, such as beech and birch. These products mirror this Catalan architect’s main aim ¬– namely to create modular, functional designs which are affordable and can easily be customised.
From 1982 to 1991, she and Enric Miralles ran a studio together in Barcelona; in 1991, Pinós established her own practice in the same city. Since then she has contributed to projects in Spain, France, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Venezuela and Cuba, and has scooped many prizes for her work. She is currently working on the urban renewal of the historic centre and river bank of the town of Saint-Dizier, in northeastern France.
