Meanwhile, Kettal’s Maia collection by the Milan-based Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola marries a very contemporary-looking tubular aluminium frame with a sophisticated take on a rustic-looking material that recalls traditional weaving techniques.

Samoa produces contemporary outdoor furniture made of aluminium. Its latest collections are called Ona and Nenúfar, created by Lievore Altherr Molina and Yonoh studio.

Vondom is the only Spanish firm that designs and produces its own collection of furniture made of technical resins. For Vondom, Javier Mariscal has designed a new quirky typology of furniture, the Moma collection, which unites the functions of a flowerpot and an outdoor table. The company also presented its JUT furniture collection – a set of different simple, geometric pieces destined for ultra-contemporary indoor and outdoor projects.

Of Stua’s new outdoor collection, the most eye-catching are the Globus chair and the Deneb table and bench duo which has a classic teak finish. The latter will soon also be available in grey.

Out of concern for the environment, Andreu World has created a new division of sustainable, eco-friendly outdoor furniture. All products are made using recycled materials, and are firmly opposed to obsolescence. The first such collection, Landscape One, has been designed by Lievore Altherr Molina.

The Mood Low collection, which is exclusive to Bivaq, is made using the Screen Cover® system which protects it from weathering, for example by strong sunlight. The idea behind the design is to take full advantage of informal, chilled-out, outdoor living. Bivaq’s 2009 catalogue also includes its Clip, Dats, Cover and Unox collections.

Indecasa’s latest products are its Sálvora and Dunas outdoor collections. Sálvora comprises three variations of sun lounger (a long and short one and one with a footrest); Dunas is an elegant aluminum table and seat duo.
