The bathroom is one of the places in the home which needs to be functional, practical and adapt to space limitations. In this report, Interiors from Spain takes a look at some of the latest lines in furniture, washbasins and bathroom accessories made by leading Spanish companies.
Inbani issues a timely reminder that the bathroom can accommodate design trends linked to our roots and the past, with ORIGIN and PRIME. Its ORIGIN collection, designed by Seung-Yong Song blends the handmade with the industrial in different processing forms of wood, metal and glass, fitted precisely one into the other. The washbasin silhouette made in Ceramilux is reminiscent of the potter moulding vessels or a sculptor carving work from marble, shrouded in a traditional atmosphere and linked to the designer’s oriental culture. The PRIME series, created by Norm Architects, draws inspiration from traditional metal bathtubs and washbasins.
Industrias Cosmic unveiled THE GRID, a collection inspired by architecture and created by designer Ricard Ferrer. The prism is the point of departure for all the pieces which together create a discourse. As the designer puts it, “in this formal proposal, structures become objects, pieces of micro architecture where uses are networked”. The collection is made up of washbasins, modules and furniture like a jigsaw where all the pieces fit together, to which has been added a wide range of bathroom and shower accessories.
Industrias Ramón y Soler as launched new designer taps, including ALEXIA, created by Carmen Barasona, and other items for the shower. Bathco, for its part, has put the focus on materials in its washbasins, with collections that range from the purity of stone and wood or innovative alternatives in artificial stone and synthetics to other more hard-wearing options like steel and aluminium.
