KriskaDECOR, the Spanish manufacturer of anodised aluminium used in architecture and interior projects, has just opened its first subsidiary in the US in Phoenix, Arizona. The aim of this venture is to consolidate the brand’s expansion in the US and establish a presence in neighbouring Canada and Mexico, too.
The new office, that measures over 1,000sq m, will have a big operational capacity. Initially, a team of four people will be responsible for the company’s main activities: business, production, design, supply of stock and logistics distribution for its clients. The new location will allow the company to broaden its contacts in the US.
KriskaDECOR has already contributed to US projects; its clients so far have included The Venetian, Cosmopolitan Hotel of Las Vegas, Calvin Klein, Hard Rock Café, Novotel and W Hotels. It has also contributed in the past to the design of sets used in Hollywood movies and at galas for the Oscars.
What’s more, it’s just been awarded the HiP (Honouring Industry People and Product) prize — given by the magazine Interior Design — in the Architectural and Building Products category for its installation ‘Rainy roof’ at NeoCon in Chicago, the main US fair for the interior design of commercial spaces and offices.
KriskaDECOR was founded in 1926 as a chain-metal curtain manufacturer and since then has dreamt up ideas for many architecture and interior design projects. It exports around 60 per cent of its goods to over 40 countries and offers a variety of products and services, such as entirely customised designs, screens used in lighting systems and fixed or moveable structures for such sectors as hotels and restaurants, offices, public spaces, events and ships.
