Tableware brand Cookplay, created by Ana Roquero, will this year be showcasing its new Shell Line at tradeshow Ambiente Frankfurt. This third collection will add that designer touch to the most innovative and sophisticated table.
Shell Line has been designed to cater for the finest traditional and leading-edge cuisine. A four-piece set – which includes a bowl, a deep dish, a dinner and a dessert plate – its generous, organic forms have been shaped to set off to effect the most exquisite meal. Designer Ana Roquero intends the new line to be the perfect addition to her other collections, Jomon and Yayoi. This latest look is targeted at fine dining, so you can savour and enjoy those extra special dishes in style, like taking part in a select food ceremony.
Originally from Spain’s Basque country, Ana Roquero graduated from Kingston University London with a degree in Fine Arts. She is registered as a crafts consultant with the German government. On the back of her work for leading brands like Roca, Indra, Fagor, BH and Arcos Cuchillos, she opened her own tableware company Cookplay in 2014, making products with a creative take on new dining trends.
Since it was founded in 2014, Spanish brand Cookplay has notched up success after success. It has received accolades like the Red Dot Design Award 2014 for its first collection Jomon, and Best New Brand at Maison&Objet Paris in 2014. Its clients include leading restaurants like Azurmendi, Martín Berasategui and El Portal de Echaurren. Its tableware is available in shops worldwide, from the Peninsula Hotel Hong Kong to the new W Hotel Dubai, and is used at Art Basel Miami’s top catering events. Ana Roquero’s edgy designs and her Cookplay brand are looking to revolutionise the culinary scene and are a shining example of new Spanish talent in the world of Food & Design.
