Milan Furniture Fair 2017

True to annual tradition, from April 4 to 9, Milan will once again become the global homeware and design showcase, where the world’s top furniture and lighting companies unveil their latest collections. Five shows will be held this year, including the 56th Milan Furniture Fair, which welcomed more than 372,150 people from 165 countries in 2016, and the 29th Euroluce lighting show.

Once again Spain, with 105 brands, is second only to Italy in exhibitor numbers. Around 60 Spanish companies will be taking part in the Milan Furniture Fair, unveiling their latest furniture and designs. Euroluce will feature 37 Spanish lighting brands, while Workplace 3.0 will have eight Spanish companies from the office and communities sector. SaloneSatelite – this year celebrating its 20th anniversary – will be the place to find promising new designers making their debut in front of the discerning visitors who grace this trade show.

Fuori Salone include two Spanish design exhibitions:

The exhibition “Surface & Interface” will be held at Palazzo Litta and will be organised by the RED Aede association in partnership with Valresa – a Spanish company from Valencia leading the way in wood-printing technologies – and supported by ICEX. The exhibition – combining Spanish technology and design – will take place in a 65sqm room inside the palace, where DAMN Magazine is promoting and organising an international exhibition with major brands for the third consecutive year. This time the theme is “A matter of perception: TRADITION & TECHNOLOGY”. Nine Spanish companies will be exhibiting products in which Spanish industrial and graphic designers have used Valresa’s new digital technology VirtualMelt. Manuel Lecuona, Professor at Valencia’s Polytechnic University will curate the exhibition, where EstudiHac studio is in charge of design.

“Inspired in Barcelona” is the name of an exhibition organised by BCD Barcelona and Catalonia Trade & Investment taking place at Palazzo Isambardi, and featuring almost 90 furniture, lighting and textiles products by brands, editors and other design professionals from the Catalan city. Design and concept is by Emiliana Design Studio, who will be revealing an open-minded Barcelona with a Mediterranean character, and a time-honoured creative and cultural tradition, where both interiors and exteriors are defined by cutting-edge design and the kind of innovation that befits a 21st-century city.
