Last April, contemporary furniture maker Viccarbe unveiled its seating collection Aleta in Milan. Inspired by the anatomy and movement of sharks, it was designed by leading Spanish designer Jaime Hayón. The collection, comprising a chair, stool and armchair, features subtle detail on leg structure and incorporates continuous flowing movement into the chair backs, in a design which reflects the personality and character of their creator.
Before the end of the year, Viccarbe also unveiled two new auxiliary tables, created by Brazilian designer Pedro Paulo-Venzon, in his first partnership with the Spanish company.
The first creation is Giro, a minimalist table with clean-cut lines and simple shapes. It features an oak bowl resting on a curved metal framework made from a line and circle which form the legs.
The second table is Bamba, the perfect symbiosis of sculpture and balance. With a round metal top and a base made from a circle and two metal rods, it evokes the designer’s signature “o with stroke” (Ø).
Refined and subtle, both tables are a welcome addition to the collection of a company whose products are about passion for colour, meticulous attention to detail and the Mediterranean spirit.
