A little over a year ago, at the 2017 Hábitat Valencia show, we witnessed the birth of a new brand of outdoor furniture and accessories Diabla, launched by the firm GANDIABLASCO. And in the months since then, we have observed intense production activity resulting in different collections of chairs, tables and accessories filled with colour and the Mediterranean spirit.
One of the latest collections is D12, a set of pieces designed by the Balearic architect Marià Castelló. This family of products is characterised by its clean lines and functional design. Their appearance is so basic that they could be taken as the framework for something, whether a shelf, a coat rack or tables. Their minimalist lines conceal the surprising range of creative secondary functions that some of their elements can provide. In fact, this unlimited variety of uses is where Diabla’s personality shines through in this collection. For instance, the coffee table can be used to hang a basket, while what appears to be a coat rack can be used outdoors for hanging towels. The wide range of colours allows the pieces of this collection to be used as clean and ethereal elements that merge with any setting, indoor or outdoor, or on the contrary, as a bold accent of colour.
Diabla is the third brand launched by GANDIABLASCO. Its collection draws on the resources and skills GANDIABLASCO has to offer in design, production and business development. The company has entrusted leadership of the project to the architect and designer Sara Romero, a founding member of the Romero Vallejo studio. Diabla has its own online store www.diablaoutdoor.com, where its products can be purchased. They are also available at regular GANDIABASCO stockists.
