Several companies and designers from Spain received accolades at the prestigious German Design Award 2019, held on 8 February in Frankfurt.

Gres, the rattan stool created by Miguel Milá for the firm Expormim, won an award in the “Furniture” category. Another winner, this time in the “Bath and Wellness” category, was DeKauri designed. In this bathroom furniture project, Cosentino incorporated an elaborate washbasin into the company’s Dekton® ultracompact surface. Designed by Daniel Germani, this bathroom dressing table also involved the collaboration of Italian manufacturer Riva 1920 which provided Kauri wood to create the unit. Similarly, Spanish designer Santiago Sevillano created the Nansa outdoor furniture collection for the company Musola which gained another win in the “Furniture” category.

A number of Spanish companies also received special mentions for their creations. In the “Lighting” category, special mention was made of Pepo lamps from the firm Ole! by FM.
