Six companies and eight designers and design studios from Spain were awarded prizes on 15 March in the BWM Welt building in Munich (Germany) at the prestigious 2019 iF DESIGN AWARD ceremony.

In the “Home Furniture” section, a prize was awarded to the FRAMES armchair designed by Jaime Hayón for the company Expormim. In the lighting category the INVITING table lamp collection designed by Bohman&Folenius for Faro Barcelona won an award. The main feature is that the light can be moved to suit your different lighting needs and moods. The BLACK FOSTER ceiling light fixture created by Rubén Saldaña for Arkoslight won an award for transferring the acclaimed “Invisible Black” effect to a linear system.

In the bathroom category, the LIGNAGE tap collection by Ramón Esteve for Noken (Porcelanosa), the INSIGNIA taps collection designed by the studio Benedito Design for Roca and the ZEUS VOLCANO COVER shower tray by MCBath received awards.

The following Spanish design studios also won awards: Lievore Altherr for the CILA GO functional furniture for the Italian company Arper, Workplane Design for its Magic Sound sound mixer, SIMPLICITY WORKS Europe for its revolutionary use of 3D technology with the INFINITY shoe that is produced without stitching or assembly, and Nacar Studio for the HP Latex R2000 Printer Series printer, created for HP Inc.

The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the most important design prizes in the world. For 65 years, the award has been organized by the world's oldest independent design company, iF International Forum Design GmbH, based in Hannover, Germany. Winning this prize is a stamp of excellence that guarantees an exceptional design for consumers and users. We could like to congratulate the Spanish businesses and designers who have received the award this year.
