Tokyo University of Sciences opened a new campus in March, 2013, furnishing its study rooms and library, among other areas, with several collections by Viccarbe, the Spanish brand known for its furniture for the home and public spaces. The Viccarbe designs chosen by this prestigious, Japanese institution to bring colour and comfort to the lives of its students were the Penta armchairs, designed by Toan Nguyen, Davos armchairs and sofas by Jeffrey Bernett, R1 chairs by FRdesign and RS seats, dreamt up by Luis Vidal.
Viccarbe’s furniture graces public spaces all over the world — proof both of the brand’s global presence and variety of its designs. The following venues boast excellent examples of furniture made and supplied by Viccarbe: luxury hotels Tesoro Blu in Greece, Chicago’s Radisson Blu, New York’s Grand Hyatt, the offices of such blue-chip companies as Microsoft, Finlandia, Google México, Coca-Cola in Ontario and GlaxoSmithKline in Lithuania, such restaurants as the one at El Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe and the Hemisferic IMAX cinema at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia and at Madrid’s Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía as well as other public spaces such as Tokyo’s Godiva chocolate shop, 33 Mackenzie Street Tower in Melbourne and the VIP lounges of American Express in Mexico and T4 in Madrid. Viccarbe exports 85 per cent of its annual turnover of goods to over 70 countries, which demonstrates its high degree of international success and expansion into new markets.
