Winters in Canada, Russia and Estonia don't feel quite so cold when you're enjoying a relaxed meal in a restaurant featuring furniture by the Spanish company Capdell, which reflects the warmth of its home on the shores of the Mediterranean.
In the restaurant at the Gardiner Museum in Toronto, the only museum in Canada dedicated exclusively to ceramic arts, we find the Eco chairs, designed by Carlos Tiscar and the MJ tables, bringing a touch of serenity and design to the space. The mustard-colored upholstery of the Eco chairs blends with the russet tones and natural textures of the wood and stone which adorn the walls of this eatery, led by chef Bianca Azupardo.
In the restaurant “Under the Sea” in the Russian capital, Capdell's designs and use of wood bring the warmth of the "Mare Nostrum". The wooden slats which adorn the walls and the space's roof evoke the movement of ocean waves, and find a visual echo in the back, legs and shape of the NIX chairs, created by Patrick Norguet. These earth tones are rounded out by the shades of gray chosen for the upholstery of the chairs and by the MJ tables. The two furniture lines make this Muscovite restaurant an island haven.
Finally, in the Puri restaurant, located at the Haven Kakumäe marina in Tallinn, the chairs and seats from the collection designed by Fran Silvestre look like works of art in this innovative, functional space. Here, near the bar, we also find the Flick stools created by Vicente Soto, which invite us to taste the kitchen's delicious offerings in a more relaxed atmosphere.
