On June 10, the 2020 National Innovation and Design Awards ceremony was held in Granada, presided over by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain. These awards annually recognize the trajectory of individuals and companies that have integrated innovation as an indispensable element in their professional strategy and business growth, and those that have contributed significantly to the prestige of Spanish design.
These criteria have made the firm LZF worthy of the National Design Award in the “Company” category for successfully developing a proposal “focused on design, creativity and sustainability, with a great emotional and conceptual impact that translates into a high perceived and functional quality of its products.” This award is a recognition of the 25-year history of the company, whose lamps combine craftsmanship, technology and design, through a unique creative vision of light.
Along with LZF Lamps, the National Design Awards have also recognized the work of Pepe Gimeno Crespo, in the “Professionals” category, as "one of the first and most important ambassadors of Spanish design in the world" who undisputedly represents the best values of a whole generation of designers; and Eva and Marta Yarza, in the “Young Designers” category “for their disruptive capacity in their approaches to the projects they lead and for combining creativity with tacit knowledge in a formidable way, despite their young professional background.”
In addition, special mentions were awarded to the designer Isabel Inés Casasnovas, "for her pioneering work in the establishment and expansion of the different emerging design disciplines in Spain" and to Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, "a successful example of non-tangible design, with transcendental repercussions from a strategic point of view."
