In 2012, Spanish technical lighting creator Arkoslight embarked on what was to become the most successful period in design awards for any Spanish lighting brand in the last decade. That year, its Lex Eco luminaire picked up a Design Plus Award from Light+Building, the sector’s major international exhibition, held every two years in the German city of Frankfurt. This was the first in a series of accolades which now total forty in less than seven years.

In 2014, Arkoslight won eight more prizes including A’Design Bronze Award at Italy’s leading design competition, and four at two of the world’s major design contests in Germany: two Red Dot Design Awards  and two IF Product Design Awards. The quality of the products launched in more recent years have also been receiving recognition. In 2015, six new prizes graced the Arkoslkight catalogue: four more A’Design Awards, one IF and one Red Dot award.

But it was in 2016 when the company brought in the largest number of prizes with fourteen in a single year. It submitted its first entries to the German Design Awards and achieved six nominations. It also made its debut at the Iconic Design Awards, where it produced two winners. But that wasn’t the end of it. It went on to get two A’Design Awards, another Design Plus Award, two more IF and Red Dot Awards and, for the first time, the Silver Delta Award at Design Hub Barcelona.

Arkoslight reached the peak of its success in 2017, when it boosted its collection with three new Iconic Design Awards, two prizes in Spain—gold and silver—from ADCV and two more IF Product Design Awards. To these, it added two new trophies to its display as first-time entrant to Archiproducts Design Award and Good Design Award, the world’s oldest design prize which has been presented in Chicago (USA) since 1950.

Its prize haul has shown Arkoslight to be a leader in its sector, but it’s not slowing down just yet. In 2018 so far, it has already won four new honours: another Good Design Award, Delta Awards Selection and Silver Delta Award, Nominee for German Design Awards and, for the first time, the European Product Design Award, presented by the European Commission.

Altogether, the company has won 44 awards for the creativity of product director Rubén Saldaña and his team, who have taken Arkoslight to the top of its game, and put together a select product catalogue that is much admired for its design quality.
