In late 2019, the creative outdoor furniture brand Vondom doubled down on its ambition to conquer the Chinese market by opening a new showroom in Guangzhou, a city in the south of the country near Hong Kong and Macao.
This latest launch in the Asian country consolidates the brand's strategy of focusing more aggressively on the continent, for which it has a "special affection" – in the brand's own words– and where it already has more than 70 showrooms, stores and corners.
As part of this expansion plan, the new 200-square-meter store plans to offer cutting-edge solutions for individuals and professionals who love architecture, interior design and design in general. Located in the city's famous Louvre Palace Furniture Mall, the space moves away from the company's traditional minimalism with an environment dominated by intense colors and curved lines. Likewise, plants play a crucial role in creating an attractive space with a powerful visual impact.
The major new arrivals on display in the showroom include, among others, the "Suave” collection by Marcel Wanders, the “Gatsby” lamps designed by Ramón Esteve and the “Voxel” chairs created by Karim Rashid. These pieces and collections were in the spotlight during the opening celebration.
Vondom's presence on the Chinese market can be seen in a variety of projects. Notable recent examples include, among others, the company's latest collaborations with the exclusive hotels InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland and Morpheus in 2019.
