Viccarbe, winner of the 2025 Spanish National Design Award in the “Design and Business” category, opened its new showroom this June in the iconic Chicago building, The Mart (USA). The space is designed to inspire relaxed conversations and offer a warm Mediterranean refuge, set against the stunning backdrop of the grand buildings surrounding Merchandise Mart Plaza.
This marks Viccarbe’s first showroom not only in the US but internationally, purposefully designed to bring the brand’s Mediterranean essence, timeless design, and deep commitment to well-being to Chicago. The showroom is arranged in a series of carefully curated sets that invite visitors to explore different ways of living, featuring pieces that range from iconic staples of the brand to designs by renowned names such as Piero Lissoni, Jaime Hayon, Patricia Urquiola, and Ludovica Serafini + Roberto Palomba.
The first set has a wall-mounted desk that can be configured into four distinct workstations, each designed to support focus, comfort, and privacy. It’s paired with the Noha and Noha Executive chairs, both designed by Ludovica Serafini + Roberto Palomba.
In the second area, a double-height display showcases a curated selection of eight of Viccarbe’s most iconic chairs, grouped by family. From top to bottom and left to right, the display features the Copa chair and the Aleta chair, both designed by Jaime Hayon. In the adjacent space is the upholstered Maarten chair alongside the Ears chair. Next comes another Copa chair, this one with a swivel pyramid base, paired with the Aleta chair with a wooden base. Finally, the arrangement includes the Maarten chair and the Quadra chair, designed by Mario Ferrarini.
The third setting, bathed in natural light from a large window at the back of the showroom, is the lounge area, centered around the Savina sofa by Victor Carrasco. Tucked into the right-hand corner, the space is framed by additional pieces such as the Funda Lounge armchair by Stefan Diez and a selection of side tables: Cambio, Burin Mini, and Giro, all designed by Pedro Paulo-Venzon.
The fourth set of pieces features the Aleta Executive chair paired with the Foro table by John Pawson, crafted in oak and customized to a special length of over two meters. In the fifth area, the striking Alpi green marble top of the Burin table, designed by Patricia Urquiola, draws the eye with its beauty and elegance. It’s accompanied by the Season chair and the Perxa chair, both by Piero Lissoni.
The final space showcases Viccarbe’s latest launch: the Cubow collection by Meike Harde. This area is defined by a pair of leather armchairs, alongside the Trino side table. With its distinctly 1970s-inspired vibe, the composition invites visitors to sit back and experience contemporary comfort in a new way.
