During Milan Design Week, design lighting firm Marset inaugurated its new showroom this April in the capital of Lombardy.
This newly opened space is in a residential building from the 1930s situated in the Brera district, Milan’s quintessential design neighbourhood. Gio Ponti, emblematic Milanese architect of the 20th century, aided in the building’s construction. Stefano Colli, an Italian architect living in Barcelona, was the one responsible for the interior design of the space. He treated it as if it were a house, respecting the original features of the home in his design, and restoring materials found in the space, such as oak flooring and the Palladiana terrazzo in the corridors.
The Spanish firm’s lamp collections will be on display in this showroom, in a bluish grey universe, which defines Marset’s brand values: “design, quality, technological rigour, innovation, sustainability, durability and authenticity”.
This new showroom is Marset’s fourth location worldwide. By adding Milan to its list of global locations in Barcelona, New York and Design Post in Cologne, Germany, the firm has made a strong bet on the Italian city, a hub for international design, from which the company hopes to continue building a brand with a solid international presence and global outlook.
