CAPDELL

For more than 50 years, Capdell has been devoted to the manufacture and marketing of designer wooden furniture that prioritises comfort, functionality and timelessness.

The company dates back to 1967, when its founders created their first workshop to make wooden chairs. From the late Sixties until today, design has defined the path taken by both product and company.

In the late Seventies, they began incorporating design into their products, while the need to open up new markets was decisive in the bid to bring this component into company DNA.

They started exporting in 1985, first to neighbours like France, Portugal, Italy and Germany, and then to other continents as they became involved in international trade shows at the end of the Eighties. From the Nineties onwards, exports exceeded 50% of turnover and now make up the bulk of total invoicing, with sales to more than 40 countries across all five continents.

After the crisis of 2008, Capdell reviewed its position and set new targets for the quality and design of its products, bringing on board both Spanish and international design talent to help boost their portfolio and create global value. Designers working with Capdell have included Carlos Tiscar, Claesson Koivisto Rune, Francesc Rifé, Fran Silvestre, Gabriel Teixidó, Marcel Sigel, Mario Ruiz, Patrick Noguet, Vicent Martinez and Yonoh.

The brand has a very extensive product catalogue to satisfy customer needs, focused mainly on contract but also on the home. Their lines of chairs, tables and auxiliary furniture are made from different materials, but their special “know-how” lies in wood, which is the company’s main area of expertise. Their products can be customised with an infinite range of finishes, including fabrics, wood dyes and metal colouring… like a suit that has been made to measure.

Major clients include names like ACCOR Group, NH hotels, Vips Group, Samsung, Google, Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Avianca.

Directed at professional clients, including interior designers, architects and decorators, its main aim is to stay in close contact to be able to offer products and solutions that meet their needs, catering for specific customs and worldwide market trends. The results include diverse projects in hotels, restaurants and offices. Samsung’s Seoul offices in South Korea and the Avianca’s VIP lounges in Bogota’s El Dorado airport in Colombia are two cases in point.
