A brand new collection of exclusive outdoor rugs.
The high-profile, Spanish architect and designer Patricia Urquiola has collaborated once again with Spanish outdoor furniture company Kettal. She has designed a good-looking, innovative range of rugs for outdoor spaces.
These are made out of an innovative, exclusive fabric called Nido d’Ape (which forms a honeycomb pattern), the result of over two years’ research. This is a woven, 3D fabric made of PVC with exceptional technical qualities: it’s highly breathable and resistant to friction, chemicals and ultraviolet rays. It’s also totally washable. Very comfortable underfoot, the rugs come in four colour combinations: brown, grey, beige and red.
Urquiola has been collaborating with Kettal for several years: she created the outdoor furniture collections Maia, Vieques and Cottage for the company. All these demonstrate a desire to use materials best suited to each design, as well as a predilection for combining high-tech and innovative materials with traditional, hand-crafting manufacturing techniques.
Founded in 1964, the Kettal group – which encompasses the brands Kettal, Triconfort, Hugonet and Evolutif – is one of the world’s leading outdoor furniture companies. The group sell its products – which, being very hard-wearing, elegant and comfortable, mainly grace hotels and restaurants – in over 60 countries.
