A curvilinear office furniture range, designed by architects Tabuenca & Leache.
Akaba, which makes cutting-edge, designer furniture for public spaces, has launched its office furniture system, designed by architects Tabuenca & Leache. This sees Akaba go from being a manufacturer of contract furniture and multifunctional tables for meeting rooms to a specialist maker of office furniture for workplaces.
The Most range comprises workstations, storage cabinets incorporating cable management systems, board-room tables, cupboards and pedestals on castors, all of which combine efficiency, practicality and a human touch. A defining characteristic of all the pieces is their curved contours, devoid of corners and sharp edges which make workplaces aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly, and effortlessly allow for a variety of configurations both for use by individuals and teams.
The unimposing desk for office use has a pared-down yet expressive form which fuses avant-garde and classical aesthetics. The storage cabinet’s interplay of planes and volumes creates practical work folders and compartments, and allows for a combination of different finishes found on these dynamic, operative tables which don’t conceal their functionality. The meeting-room tables and desks come in a number of sizes and finishes, and incorporate electrical components which facilitate communication and ensures that the spaces the furniture is in is fully functioning.
Tabuenca & Leache, which offers an entire architecture and design service, boasts a broad porfolio of projects, including architecture (commercial and domestic), restoration and town-planning. The studio has also undertaken the interior design of its buildings and chosen and designed a lot of its furniture, and has carried out many projects specifically focused on interior design.
Founded in 1986, Akaba makes cutting-edge, bespoke designs for public spaces, and exports over 50 per cent of these to high-end markets all over the world.
