Amat's Toledo still a best-seller after 25 years

It may be back in the pre-mobile phone dark ages when Jorge Pensi designed the anodised aluminium Toledo chair for Amat, but it's proving to be a timeless classic. It remains one of Amat's top sellers and to mark the 25 year anniversary the company is adding to the Toledo collection with a  new high bar stool.

The award-winning lightweight, graceful, ergonomic Toledo chair was designed to update traditional terrace furniture, which had tended to be heavier, more cumbersome and  formal.

Toledo has slim lines and manages to be both eye-catching but unobtrusive. Its shape has a subtle anatomical quality, with the backrest evoking ribs.

The Toledo range has also proved popular because products don't degrade and need only to be wiped over with a damp cloth from time to time. Anodised aluminium is also fully recyclable.

The Toledo chair has plenty of awards to its name, winning Spain's prestigious Delta de Plata award in 1998.
