Chrismy, a Christmassy idea by Vondom

We’re fast approaching the most heartwarming season of the year, when we share feelings of love and peace with our nearest and dearest, gathered around the Christmas tree. Appropriately, Teresa Sapey, one of Spain’s internationally best-known designers, joins in with these sentiments with her version of the Christmas tree, called Chrismy, for Vondom.

An alternative to the traditional, natural Christmas tree, Chrismy takes its inspiration from the natural, organic, elegant forms that rise to a peak in the spiralling motion of this tree’s silhouette. Illuminated from the inside, it creates an enveloping ambience that can be enjoyed in a variety of styles of interior. Chrismy, which comes in icy white, is made of low-density polyethylene resin, a totally recyclable plastic. It comes in two choices of lighting: a low-energy version or one with LEDs that can change colour by remote control – from white to yellow to green to red to light blue to pink to ice white.

This project sees Sapey and Vondom collaborate once again, creating magical objects that wow us with their originality. Another example of a recent collaboration is their Adam and Eve plant-holders, two multifunctional pieces that, aside from plant-holders, function as seats, vases and side tables.
