Patricia Urquiola’s collection designed in 2009 is reinvented and augmented.
Gan, Spanish company Gandia Blasco’s brand, unveiled its collection Espacio Mangas, designed by Patricia Urquiola, among other new ideas for this year, at the most recent, Paris trade fair Maison & Objet.
The original Mangas collection was presented for the first time at the Milan Furniture Fair in 2009; for Gan, this was a major turning point in terms of its rug collections. This collection comprised eight rugs boasting many variations of texture and colour, printed with colourful stripes and woven from 100 per cent pure wool. Since that year, the collection has evolved and expanded to include its pouffes and, now, the addition of Espacio Mangas.
Espacio Mangas comprises a series of modular, multifunctional cushions, additional furniture, pouffes, containers and modular rugs which can be combined to meet different needs and fulfill different desires, thereby creating highly individual interiors which are nevertheless inviting and harmonious. Patricia Urquiola’s creative flair gives every user the chance to create his or her configuration of Espacio Mangas, while enjoying the same textures and degree of comfort offered by the original Mangas collection and shared by both designs.
