An atomiser for citrus fruits by Papila Studio in collaboration with Joanrojeski
Once again, Spanish company Lékué has wowed us with another of its inventive pieces of kitchenware – Citrus Spray, an atomiser that sprays citrus flavoursy by Papila Studio in collaboration with Joanrojeski. It’s a simple but highly ingenious utensil that transforms citrus fruits – from small lemons to larger grapefruits – into a natural container, and prevents the loss of vitamins and oxidisation of juice. A nozzle (in two sizes) can be easily plunged into the fruit, while a ring at the nozzle’s base firmly grips the fruit. The nozzle extracts the juice, then sprays it as a fine mist over dishes of food, drinks and cocktails. Citrus Spray also comes with a base you can rest the fruit on, so it can be left on a dining table, and its spray mechanism can be easily repaired and reused with other fruit.
Based in La Llagosta, in the province of Barcelona, Lékué is a leading manufacturer of platinum silicone kitchen products. These are innovative, highly practical, fun, even emotive utensils, that make kitchens conducive to experimentation and new experiences. These innovative products have garnered various prizes, one of the most recent being the Delta de Oro 2011 prize, a prestigious award given by The Association of Industrial Design (ADI-FAD), for its Steam Roaster, a flexible silicone vessel that steam-roasts food, designed by COMPEIXALAIGUA DESIGNSTUDIO. Lékué’s products are available in over 40 countries and are frequently showcased in high-profile print and audiovisual media around the world – making Lékué a prestigious kitchenware brand on an international scale.
