It launches two new, sporty pieces made of porcelain.
The Valencia-based company Lladró is one of the world’s leading makers of decorative, porcelain pieces.
To mark the forthcoming Olympics in London, Lladro has launched some new pieces in black porcelain called Nadador (swimmer) and Velocista (sprinter) – an addition to some existing designs in white. Both are made using a painstaking, totally hand-crafted artistic process.
What’s more, Lladró has created its light called London, in the shape of a shade, using lithophany – a technique that involves impressing porcelain with images which become translucent when light is shone behind them. In this case, images inspired by London’s most iconic landmarks glow when light is directed at them.
