Naútica hanging chair

Mut Design has created Náutica, a new indoor and outdoor hanging chair designed to pay tribute to the origins of Valencia-based company Expormim, which initially used rattan as the basic materials of all its outdoor furniture.

Sure to blend seamlessly into any indoor or outdoor space, Náutica can be hung from a tree branch, a beam or can be attached to a self-supporting frame. While it looks unimposing, it’s actually very robust and strong.

Acccording to Alberto Sánchez, one of Mut Design’s members, ‘With Náutica, we wanted to reinforce once again the infinite contrasts found in nature. On this occasion, observing how light plays on the Mediterranean in Spain inspired us to design one of our favourite pieces – the new Náutica hanging chair.’

Náutica will be unveiled at the next (51st) Milan Furniture Fair (held this year from April 17 to 22) along with the Fontal chair, designed by Oscar Tusquets, which is part of Expormim’s new collection, called Rattan 2012.
