Creating exquisitely tasteful pieces, and always paying huge attention to detail, the company Delica is synonymous with chic home accessories.
Delica has just unveiled three new collections or products for 2012, evocatively named Otto, Kuusi and Sacha, at the most recent Maison & Objet design trade fair in Paris, held in January.
Otto, an irregularly geometric wine rack in birch, is designed by Ramírez i Carrillo. The Kuusi collection, comprising a modular set of protective table mats and coasters available in three colours which can be reconfigured in countless ways, is the brainchild of Finnish designer Anna Karell. Finally, the Sacha tray, designed by Santos Bregaña, is an innovative alternative to traditional tableware, used for serving snacks and tapas. It’s made of Bakelite with one of three finishes: wengé or white or black oak .
Delica was founded in 2005 in the north of Spain. From the start, its aim was to create innovative, practical, everyday homeware. Its first big success came with the first products it launched – a collection of trays called Delica, designed by ZooCreative, which won a Red Dot Award for design in 2007. Several other designs have followed this collection, including the company’s Ameba place mats and Lorea fruit basket, both designed by ZooCreative, and Mö tray, dreamt up by prestigious studio Liévore Altherr Molina.
