If Oscar Díaz ever needs a new career, early-years education could be good, because his work for Muji has made him something of an expert in the field.
The international retail giant saw London-based Diaz´s work at a British Council Exhibition in 2010. It was looking for European designers to work on new products, and he was commissioned to design some educational toys. Diaz spent a month in Japan and says he was struck by the discipline of life in the Far East. “Muji demand a lot and they´re extremely meticulous about accuracy, about colours, about materials. It´s a lot of work to get a product onto the shelves. They are very involved at all stages”
