Spanish design is once again in luck. In the past few weeks, Vibia’s Wind light and Nanimarquina’s Losanges rug have scooped prestigious prizes at an international level.
The Wind light – a parasol-shaped design by Jordi Vilardell – has received a prize for Best Outdoor Light of 2012 by Wallpaper* magazine. It casts a single, soothing light, thanks to its acrylic diffuser. In the words of the panel of judges: ‘Wind brings an ethereal, poetic touch to summer nights’.
Meanwhile, Nanimarquina’s Losanges rug, designed by brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, has been awarded an Elle Decoration International Design Award (EDIDA) in the floor coverings category. This prize has great international resonance since the awarded products are chosen by 25 editors of various editions of Elle Decoration from all over the world.
