Wooden dogs to play with and useful clothes hangers are the Spanish designer's latest creations.
London-based designer Roger Arquer has been working for retail giant Muji and for Barcelona-based Boo in Barcelona. For the former, he designed a set of FSC-wood stacking dogs, which are as much for adults to play with as children. How high can you stack the dogs and how many configurations can you make?
For Boo in Barcelona, he’s designed Skeleton, which could well be the most useful coat-hanger ever. It’s got three rungs, so to speak, so you won’t need to bunch shirts on top of each other in your wardrobe. Skeleton is made from powder-coated steel, so it’s sturdy and should last years.
Born in Barcelona, designer Roger Arquer opened his own studio in London in 2005. Since then, he's worked for such companies as Royal VKB, Eno, Muji, Bosa, Zilio, Boo in Barcelona, Thorsten van Elten and Mathmos. At the moment he teaches at Central Saint Martins and at Camberwell College of Arts, in London. The three main concerns behind his design process are function, beauty and emotion.
