Collections of natural fabrics and bespoke designs using textile-based products for the hotel industry.
The Spanish firm Teixidors has just launched its division Teixidors Contract, which specialises in custom-made, textile-based products for hotels, restaurants and other public spaces.
The new range is intended for use in hotels and other public spaces keen to distinguish themselves from their competitors via their inviting interiors. It comprises sheets, curtains, cushions, bedspreads, towels and fabrics with tartan details made from natural materials, without the use of synthetic dyes – and all handwoven on traditional looms. The fabrics are made to the highest quality using such luxurious materials as merino wool from organically reared sheep, wool from Mongolian yaks, cashmere and linen. Since they’re handwoven on the company’s looms, all the fabrics can be customised and adapted to any project’s specific needs. They can also be used to make entirely bespoke products for the hotel industry, while conforming to its accompanying fire-proof certificates.
Since it was founded in 1983 as a cooperative, Teixidors has adhered to strong social principles and environmental standards of sustainability. It employs people who normally risk being socially excluded and is commited to responsible consumption – both central planks of its business philosophy. It creates all its products at its workshop in Terrassa near Barcelona. It mainly produces fabrics for the home and clothing, both now complemented by this new range of textiles for the contract market.
Several designers have collaborated with Teixidors in the creation of its collections, among them Cristian Zuzunaga, who has produced several designs for the company, including his blankets called Integrate: Time and Space, which were awarded a prize at the New York trade fair ICFF this year.
