Mut Design enchants us with Twins…

This year, Spanish outdoor furniture company Expormim has unveiled its Twins armchairs, designed by Mut Design, at the fairs IMM Cologne and Maison & Objet in Paris.

 
Inspired by masculinity and femininity, these were presented both as independent pieces and as ones which share the same DNA. As such, they work well as separate pieces or as a pair. Both are perfect for indoor and outdoor spaces, thanks to their new, exclusive technical upholstery fabrics, which makes them highly versatile. While one armchair has a rounded, feminine charm, the other looks indisputably masculine. The two designs are sober, comfortable and elegant — and captivating for being beautiful, characterful and well-designed.

The philosophy of Mut Design rests on creating designs with an emotional appeal, on experimentation and on a constant reimagining of everyday objects, a hallmark of every project created by this dynamic studio. Mut Design has collaborated with Expormim before, creating such pieces as its Nautica swing chair, which won the high-profile Red Dot Design Award 2014, one of the world’s most internationally prestigious design prizes, for best product design.

The Mediterranean and handmade aesthetic of Expormim’s cane and wicker furniture continues to wow us, as is evident in such recent pieces as its Tina collection, designed by the Italian architect Benedetta Tagliabue, and its reissued Lapala seats, a classic design originally created by Lievore Altherr Molina in 1998.
