Nara and Easel, Odosdesign’s new creations for Arlex

This year, design agency Odosdesign has created two new, highly functional pieces for the company Arlex— its Nara sideboard and Easel clothes rack.

For the Nara sideboard collection, Odosdesign has integrated the drawers’ handles into the frameworks so they don’t look like superfluous elements. Inspired by the frame of an artist’s canvas, the rail the drawers hang from are concealed in the inner perimeter. The Nara system offers a huge choice for combining different finishes, such that it goes well in many different styles of interior. 

The Easel clothes rack is a multifunctional, supplementary piece, useful not only for hanging clothes on by day in the bedroom but for storing things on in other rooms in the house. It stands out for being very elegant and functional, is made of oak and can be lacquered in different colours

Founded in Valencia in 2005, Odosdesign specialises in design projects, graphics and art direction. This multidisciplinary studio sees designing new products as a continuous, daily proces and as a reflection on different lifestyles and the needs each one entails. It aims to create products which are lasting and transcend fleeting trends. It has designed pieces for many homeware companies such as Actiu, Gandía Blasco, Sancal, Punt Mobles and Viccarbe, among others. 

Arlex has been making high-end domestic furniture since 1963. In 1984, it augmented its product range by adding office furniture. Its commitment to good design and introduction of new products have resulted in the firm currently exporting its goods to over 15 countries, and these account for over 10 per cent of the firm’s turnover.
