We can all tell when someone's brimming with confidence. And the same is true with companies. We pick up from their communications – online, in print and on screen – which ones are thriving and full of energy and innovative ideas.
Enea is certainly in a good place now, with exports to all five continents, recognition for its work in the field of eco design and award-winning products from some of the world's best contemporary designers. Its recent EMA chair by Líevore Altherr Molina is an example of how Enea is getting things right by combining clever design, modern good looks and eco friendliness: it's slender and elegant, super stackable (you can easily get 20 on a stack) and it's won Ecodesign certification thanks to being made from recyclable materials. The company's produced a short video about EMA which has a fun few seconds showing the chairs 'raining' down onto a growing stack - which makes a very succinct point that this chair most definitely has the stackability factor.
Enea was founded in 1984, is based in Legorreta, north west of Pamplona, and has a workforce of 110. The company was set up to offer versatile modern, mainly contract furniture that would work well in a wide variety of settings, from airport lounges, auditoriums and offices to hotels and restaurants. And as contract furniture has become ever more stylish, many pieces are ideal for home use too, the Ema chair being a case in point.
