Pendant lamps by Basque contemporary lighting firm B.lux now illuminate the new shop of Bugaboo, the Dutch baby and kids’ pushchair brand, in Berlin.
The shop’s interior design and lighting is the work of German designer Werner Aisslinger, who chose to use his Aspen light, one of his most recent decorative lighting designs, manufactured by B.lux. The 200m-sq shop stands out for the warmth bestowed on it by its considered lighting and attractive combination of materials, such as concrete and Swiss pine. Clusters of matt, pastel-toned pendant lights, with shades in different sizes and LED lights, have been installed in both the display areas and in a workshop for repairing pushchairs.
Bugaboo’s Berlin shop is not Aisslinger’s first interior design project to feature lighting made by B.lux. The communal areas of hotel 25 Hours Bikini, also in Berlin, boasts other bestselling Aisslinger pieces for B.lux, such as his Tree Series standard light, which stands out for its organic, natural forms perfectly suited to the character of this hotel where the designer’s aim is to highlight the tension between nature and culture with an overall design that evokes an urban jungle.
B.lux has been making contemporary lighting since 1980, and collaborates with well-known designers and architects when carrying out lighting projects in hotels, private residences, offices and public buildings in over 60 countries. Its products have won prestigious design prizes, such as the Red Dot, Delta, Good Design and Design Preis awards.
