Blat seating collection
Blat seating collection
Spanish upholstered furniture company B&V recently unveiled its latest armchairs and sofas — Blat, Släde and Book, created by edeestudio— at trade fair Hábitat Valencia.
Blat, which means wheat in Valencian, comprises clean-lined, lightweight seats, intended to be as comfortable as possible for its users and designed for public spaces and waiting rooms. The Blat line consists of a chair with or without arms and a sofa. Släde, meaning sleigh in Swedish, is an armchair with a metal frame. With its light, slimline frame, it resembles Nordic sledges, its sled-like frame cradling the seat. Finally, Book stands out for its simplicity and elegance, which transcends cutting-edge fashions and trends. It’s an enduring, functional design intended mainly for hotels and reception areas.
What’s more, B&V has augmented some of its collections, such as its modular Dolmen design which has morphed into comfortable benches and armchairs with solid wooden legs, created for public areas. Joining the Ego armchair is another chair with its arm on the right-hand side that creates intimate spaces for conversation. And now the Zip armchair and Ikon sofa come in other sizes, too. Zip, which was nominated for the German Design Awards, is currently available as a three-seater sofa, while the Ikon sofa has been shortened to a 160cm-long seat suited for smaller spaces.
B&V has been creating its designs since 1992 in its upholstery workshop, which combines tradition and creativity using state-of-the-art technology. All its creations are dreamt up by expert designers and handmade by master craftspeople — a combination that ensures each piece is durable, comfortable, of high quality and functional.
