Furniture company Mobenia has equipped Fraser Suites’ apartments in Geneva.
Frasers Hospitality is a global hospitality operator with Gold-Standard serviced hotel residences across Europe, North Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Australia. In late 2015, it opened its Fraser Suites Geneva apartments in the prestigious business and shopping district of Rue du Marché, very near the lake with its iconic Jet D’Eau fountain. This establishment boasts 67 luxury apartments which have been overseen by architect Charles Pictet.
Mobenia has furnished this upscale project with bespoke contemporary pieces for the bedrooms and communal areas. Its standout pieces are its beds, tables, shelving units, low-level TV units, desks and furniture for the reception and for storage. Fulfilling all the spaces’ technical requirements, the furniture has been created by the company’s research and development team.
Founded in 1987, Mobenia has evolved from a company making handcrafted furniture which was established in 1961. From the start, its raison d’être has been innovation in all areas of furniture-making, be this at the initial design stage, production, selection of materials and development of sustainable processes. Its manufacturing system, called Lean, combined with handcrafted methods used for one-off pieces, ensures that all its furniture is unique. Its products are environmentally friendly and, in 2008, for its varnished products, it started using a water-based technique which, together with other improved methods, has made it possible to reduce 96 per cent of harmful emissions into the atmosphere, such that it reaches levels far lower than those set by EU directives.
