Luminaire brand Faro Barcelona has unveiled its latest products at the Stockholm Furniture & Lighting Fair, Scandinavia’s leading interior design show.
New in table lamps are the “Mine” and “Hoshi” collections. Designed by the Nahtrang studio, Mine includes both table and pendant lamps made from natural wood and opal glass. Subtly Nordic, they get their gentle look from soft contours, an organic finish and pale, serene tones that emit not just light but peace and harmony. Hoshi, on the other hand, is a table lamp created by Xjer Studio with a solid base and ultra-slim body that stands in stark contrast to the metal shade housing an adjustable LED light source. Pendant-light releases include the “Whizz” family, created by Christoph Friedrich Wagner, with a satin-gold/black combination ideal for any interior lighting project.
Today’s luminaire manufacturers are particularly taken up with portable lamps and Faro Barcelona has launched its own new pieces for 2017, “Hook” and “Cat”. A milestone for the brand in this kind of lighting, Hook is an eco-friendly portable design by Oiko, made from PVC-free recycled plastic with minimum CO2 emissions. This versatile product features a series of compatible accessories that will turn it into a magazine rack, bedside table or wall lamp, in any of three different colours. Hook is also about solidarity, made in partnership with Foundation El Maresme and supporting NGO Mary’s Meals. Cat, by Nahtrang, is a fun and original portable lamp made from aluminium with a PEMD diffuser, and is available with a practical accessory so it can be hung up anywhere.
Rounding off the new releases are wall lamps “Han” – which doubles up as a point of light and a coat rack – and “Nit”, in black or white, which is made from a folded metal circle, half of which can be fixed to the wall while the other half serves as a shelf. Both were created by Goula Figuera design studio. Finally, “Bu Oh” is a series of outdoor beacons and wall lamps designed by Estudi Ribaudí. These efficient LED luminaires made from aluminium will not only stand up to tough weather conditions, but also give off a warm, enigmatic light reminiscent of owl eyes.
