NOW carpets has designed outdoor rugs for the rooftop terrace of the spectacular collaborative workspace, NeueHouse, in Hollywood (Los Angeles).
The prestigious US design firm, Rockwell Group, is responsible for the new West Coast headquarters of NeueHouse, a large community of creative-industry entrepreneurs founded in New York in 2013. NeueHouse Hollywood is located in L.A.’s landmark CBS Radio Building, designed by the Swiss architect, William Lescaze. The legendary TV and radio studio, built in 1938, has a personality and vitality all its own. From there, the unmistakable voices of Orson Welles and Bob Dylan were broadcast, and actress Lucille Ball took her first steps onto US television screens. The Rockwell Group’s renovation of the building maintains the brilliance and modernity of the structure, emphasising its stylised geometry and delicate use of materials. The design firm succeeded in capturing the energy, spirit, and glamour of the building to create this new meeting hub for entrepreneurs and start-ups in Hollywood.
Great care has been invested in the terraces of the complex in an effort to turn them into pleasant meeting spaces. And it is this area that features NOW Carpets’ “à la carte carpets.” Made from recycled polyester, the building’s exterior kilims were custom-made for the space in a variety of dimensions to suit the needs of the project. Moreover, all of the carpets comply with strict US quality control standards and hold anti-fire and -water certifications.
The Spanish company, NOW Carpets, designs and manufactures contemporary custom carpets for each project, with the collaboration of international designers like Arik Levi, Francesc Rifé, Christian Ghion, Moneo Brock, Michael Banks, Claudio Collucci, Yumi Endo, and Stephanie Goto among others. The firm uses top quality raw materials in its pieces and exports approximately 70% of its volume to Europe, the US, the Middle East, and Africa.
