Spanish design studio Odosdesign has just won the prestigious Red Dot award in Communication Design 2017 in the Corporate Publishing category. The prize was awarded for the graphic communications campaign designed for the Orgatec 2016 trade show which gives expression to the “Cool Working” philosophy for work places and contract spaces of furniture company Actiu.
The award-winning campaign featured six spaces, six cities and six different characters, who appear to be separate but are actually connected. It also shows new trends in working and contract environments where well-being and productivity have been boosted by Actiu furniture solutions. To achieve this, the design studio planned a coordinated graphic communications strategy which ranged from art direction to space design, publishing and print design in all the communications related to the “Cool Working” philosophy. The print materials or “Travel Guide”, which Actiu gave clients at the trade show became the company’s exhibition communications tool. The studio faced a planning and strategy involving everything from campaign design, selection and characterisation to recording and editing the video in a six-story sequence.
More than 8,000 projects from 50 countries were in the running for the Red Dot awards, organised by Germany’s Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. The jury recognised Odosdesign's production and design work, and the strategy behind a “Travel Guide” that successfully communicates Actiu values, products and news to the viewer. The award will be presented on October 27 in Berlin.
