Paralum luminaire
Abu Dhabi’s spectacular new Louvre Museum, designed by leading French architect Jean Nouvel, opened its doors on 11 November. One of the companies involved in the lighting for the project is Luxiona Group which has installed its “Paralum” luminaire.
“Paralum” is a modular system designed by Jean Nouvel himself where the lighting is integrated into the ceiling. It is part of a series of collaborations the architect has made for Troll, Luxiona Group’s technical lighting brand. Jean Nouvel describes it thus: "Paralum is more than a simple lighting device. It is even more than a false ceiling with luminaires. Paralum is a Lighting Art Object which is constantly engaging and exchanging with its surroundings”. Spanish group Luxiona customised the luminaire so the Museum could include an illustration of the Abu Dhabi skyline in its structure.
In recent years, the company has undertaken many projects in the Middle East, including the VIP terminal of Abu Dhabi airport, the Seasons Hotel and Legoland Dubai. They have also worked with other new hotels in the region, including: W Hotels, Rotana, Millennium and Sheraton.
Luxiona Group is a global business providing lighting solutions for project prescribers (architecture studios, engineering firms, lighting and interior designers). The group has four brands: Troll specialises in technical lighting, Metalarte decorative lighting, Sagelux, emergency lighting and Josfel urban and outdoor lighting. The group aims to offer its clients the best integral solutions in design, production and marketing, lighting up contract, architectural, domestic and temporary spaces. It has direct presence in Spain, Mexico, China, Poland, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Singapore, Chile and Peru, and adheres to the strictest quality standards in both product design and manufacturing processes.
